The ice is thawing between feuding royal brothers, Prince William and Prince Harry — thanks to the family’s prime mediator, Kate Middleton.
The Duchess of Cambridge, William’s wife — who he has called the “family peacemaker” — was the first to engage the isolated Harry in conversation after Saturday’s low-key funeral for his grandfather Prince Philip, the Sunday Times of London reported.
She launched an animated chat with her brother-in-law as the royals emerged into the bright spring sunshine.
The prince seemed to visibly relax as she spoke — and then William joined them, making their tete-a-tete into a threesome.
As most of the royals ditched the cars that were waiting for them outside the chapel and walked back to Windsor Castle together, Kate dropped discreetly behind — allowing William and Harry to stroll side by side, speaking amiably along the way.
Royal aides were reportedly “on eggshells” as they planned the funeral around the brothers’ strained relationship.
A furious William was reportedly left “reeling” in the wake of his brother’s incendiary Oprah Winfrey interview last month, when Harry and wife Meghan Markle leveled charges of racism against unnamed family members and said that his brother feels “trapped” by his royal duties.
The brothers were separated by their cousin Peter Phillips as they marched in the procession behind their grandfather’s casket, and were seated far apart during the funeral service.
While Markle, pregnant with the couple’s second child, could not travel to Britain for the ceremonies, Harry may remain in his homeland for several more days, the Times reported, to privately celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday with the family on Wednesday.
