The 44-year-old woman's body was found by teenagers in Bluewater, north of Townsville, on Saturday, August 13, prompting the homicide investigation.
In Yalboroo, south of Proserpine, on August 14, the 38-year-old is accused of firing a single shot into a passing car.
The driver was not injured in the incident and notified police, who arrested the suspect at a Proserpine petrol station hours later.
The 38-year-old has been charged with one count of murder, a domestic violence offence, and intending to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the shooting.
He has also been charged with one count of stealing after allegedly failing to pay for fuel at a Giru service station on August 13.
A weapon has been seized in relation to the alleged murder, however police have not disclosed what it is.
The man will appear in Mackay Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
