Whataburger is holding an all-day hiring event at the Hoover Met Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The burger franchise, which has six locations in the Birmingham metro area, says the event is open to applicants, friends and family. There will be free food, shirts, swag bags, a Whataburger Instagram wall, raffles and door prizes, including a chance to win Whataburger for a year.

The event comes as businesses, from restaurants to retailers to factories, are searching for workers as the economy ramps back up after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Wayne Farms is seeking applicants for more than 500 jobs between its production plants in Decatur and Albertville and the harvest site in Decatur, WAFF is reporting. And Blue Origin has announced a hiring blitz this week, seeking more than 80 skilled machinists and welders in Huntsville.
“We are excited to welcome new summer 2021 hires into the Whataburger family to learn valuable experience and skills while having fun with the people they love and enjoy the most,” President and CEO Ed Nelson, Whatburger President and CEO, said.
