A 24-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly killing a dog in Sydney's inner west on Saturday.
Police were called to a unit in Marrickville at about 1.30am, where they found the 44-year-old owner of an English Staffordshire Bull Terrier attempting to treat the dog for lacerations to its neck.
The dog, Rocky, was taken to a local vet for surgery but died.
The younger woman allegedly left the unit after a domestic dispute and was arrested on Oxford Street in Surry Hills at about 4.20pm on Saturday.
She was charged with torturing, beating and causing the death of an animal, two counts of stalking or intimidating, contravening an apprehended violence order, using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend and two counts of breaching bail.
The woman was refused bail and is due to appear in court on Sunday.
