Coronavirus NSW: Virus warning for Sydney Westfield - NEWS.com.au

A public health alert has been issued for three venues in western Sydney after a man in his 20s was diagnosed with COVID-19.

The man is a close contact of an already reported case associated with the Mounties club cluster.

“He attended several venues while infectious and people at these venues are considered casual contacts and urged to be alert for symptoms, and if any develop to get tested and self-isolate immediately,” NSW Health said in a statement.

The coronavirus venues listed by NSW Health are:

Penrith Plaza Westfield on August 1 from 10.30am to 12pm

Master Hot Pot in Canley Vale on August 1 from 1pm to 2pm

BBQ City Buffet in Bankstown on August 1 from 7pm to 8.30pm

NSW Health have also expanded their exposure dates for people who attended the Mounties club in Mount Pritchard, in south west Sydney, adding an additional day of exposure risk.

The extra day was added after a previously reported case told NSW Health they’d been at the venue on Sunday July 26 for three hours. Some 15 cases of coronavirus have been associated with the Mounties club. The full dates of exposure risk are below.

“Anyone feeling unwell – even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat – is urged to self-isolate and have a COVID-19 test,” NSW Health said in a statement. “Do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19.”

“If you are directed to self-isolate, you must remain in isolation for the full 14 days even if your initial test is negative.

“If you do develop COVID-19 symptoms, you should be retested, even if you have had a negative result previously.”

Popular Bankstown restaurant BBQ City Buffet earlier shared a statement after closing their doors over the COVID-19 exposure.

“If you were at our restaurant dining during this time, NSW Health encourages you to monitor for symptoms and get tested,” the restaurant said in a statement.

“As a CovidSafe restaurant, BBQ City has a full record of all patrons who were present at the time and we have passed these details onto NSW Health for contact tracing.

“We take Covid19 seriously so we will be closed temporarily.

“All our staff are undertaking tests and our restaurant will be thoroughly deep cleaned by a SafeWork Australia approved company.“
