A 25-year-old Ipswich man will face court charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a teenage girl with a bow and arrow.
Police said the Bundamba man entered an Aldi supermarket at Booval just after 4:30pm yesterday dressed in a mask and a black hoodie before he allegedly began firing a compound bow.
One arrow fired towards the back of the store injured a 15-year-old girl.
She was struck in the hand and stomach and was taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
After the alleged attack, the man was detained by members of the public inside the store until police were able to arrest him.
Police said before the supermarket incident, the man had walked from the Booval Railway Station and allegedly shot at a female jogger but had missed her.
They also believe he fired at a passing car.
Investigators are appealing for the car's driver, the woman and anyone else who may have witnessed the man yesterday afternoon to come forward.
He is expected to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today charged with attempted murder, torture and going armed so as to cause fear.
